COVID-19: A message from MAP BC

The COVID-19 pandemic has changed the way we live – even temporarily – and has impacted every aspect of our lives. This is also true for refugee claimants. The IRCC and IRB has temporarily halted all refugee protection hearings and the Government’s focus is on this health crisis. The borders are also closed to those seeking refugee protection.

The impacts of the pandemic are being felt right across the sector and the information we receive is changing almost hourly.

However, MAP succeeds because it is a collective of refugee claimant serving organizations, that seek to work together and share information.

But for now, we won’t be able to hold in-person meetings, so like many other organizations, will move online – providing a forum for information sharing, networking and support.

We will continue with our regular information bulletin, as well as special updates, as we receive pertinent information.

If you have any questions, or would like more information, please contact Jenny Moss, our MAP Executive Coordinator – info@mapbc.org

Thank you for all you do to serve refugee claimants and we trust you will all stay safe and well in these extraordinary times.
