June 2021 saw us still online as the world battled the COVID-19 pandemic. This year MAP BC produced a 6-part program of activities from June 14 – June 20 with an array of different themes. With a very strong and talented refugee claimant presence online MAP continued its tradition of celebrating their accomplishments while raising issues for discussion.
This year MAP BC focused on the stories of refugee claimants. Stories of loss and gain, stories of precious memories, personal stories and stories that describe parts of the refugee claimant experience like looking for housing, experiencing acceptance and a new beginning. Stories are the fabric of our lives and what make others’ experiences real for us.
